Introduction

The Department of Biotechnology is committed to providing quality education in biological sciences and modern biotechnological applications. Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that integrates biology, chemistry, technology, and scientific research to develop innovative solutions for healthcare, agriculture, food production, environmental management, and industrial development. The programme provides students with a strong foundation in cell biology, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetic engineering, immunology, and bioinformatics. Through laboratory training, practical sessions, research projects, seminars, workshops, and hands-on learning, students are encouraged to develop scientific thinking, technical skills, analytical abilities, and research aptitude. The department prepares students for higher education, research, healthcare, pharmaceutical, agricultural, food, environmental, and other biotechnology-related career opportunities.
