Introduction

The M.A. English programme provides students with an advanced understanding of English language, literature, literary criticism, linguistics, and cultural studies. The programme enables students to explore a wide range of literary works from different periods, genres, cultures, and perspectives while developing a deeper appreciation of literary and linguistic traditions. Through the study of poetry, drama, fiction, prose, criticism, linguistics, and contemporary literature, students develop advanced analytical, interpretative, and communication skills. The programme also emphasises research methodology, academic writing, creative expression, seminars, presentations, and research-oriented activities, preparing students for higher education, research, teaching, media, publishing, and other professional opportunities.
